My name is Tom Rees and I am the owner of A Closer Look and a Certified Professional Home Inspector. I provide high-quality Home Inspections and related inspection services in the Salt Lake City, Utah area.
I am professionally trained, certified, and highly experienced. We are happy to provide you with references from past clients because we have a long list of happy clients over our years of inspecting here.
Our Company’s Foundation
My company is based on the belief that my customers’ needs are of the utmost importance. I am committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of my business is from repeat customers and referrals. I would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the “Best Service in the Industry”.
At the end of each inspection, I do a complete walkthrough with my clients. I spend as much time as is necessary to fully explain the conditions that I have found. This is also a good time to ask questions. I will be more than happy to answer them all. Remember there are no “dumb” questions. See what a difference it makes when you are encouraged to participate and get to know your new home. I often get the statement “that was fun” or “you really seem to enjoy what you do” at the end of the walk through.

- Residential and Commercial Painting and Remodeling Contractor with over 20 years experience.
- March 1999 completed NRI McGraw Hill Home Inspection Training course.
- August 2004 completed AHIT (American Home Inspector Training) course.
- September 2004 received CRMI (Certified Residential Mold Inspector) designation from IESO (Indoor Environmental Standards Organization).
- September 2004 completed 100 hours of hands-on Home and Building Inspector training program thru Allstate Home Inspection.
- November 2004 completed Allstate Field Training Program
- Certified and Tested thru ASPREI (American Society of Professional Real Estate Inspectors).
- Certified and member in good standing InterNACHI.
- I am an experienced home inspector (18 years) and have personally performed thousands of inspections.
- I am fully Insured (E&O and General Liability)
